All start has an end. All rise has a fall. All victory will end, one day or
the other. Prophets have come to announce that after the end of this life
and this world, there is an eternal life awaiting all humans. Believers to
the prophets will eternally enjoy blessings in the Paradise. And non
believers of the prophets will unfortunately suffer supplices eternally in
Hell. This is the equation that each human being should ponder upon. No
matter what it takes, let`s die as muslim believers. Because else, an
eternal punishment is awaiting us.
‘’O you believers! Fear Allah, as He should be feared! And let you not die
but that you are muslims.’’(3:102)
We should thank Allah Ta`ala on the favour of imaan. Live on the way of
life as muslims. Then Insha Allah, we will definitely die as muslims.
There is no such favour as guidance to Islam-Bukhari.

Reported in Abu Dawood and Tirmizi that Allah Ta`ala facilitate the mu-min
to live according to Islam during his lifetime until he dies on one of
these actions that lead towards jannah. Hence Insha Allah, he will enter
So how you live, you die. The condition is that we should have ikhlaas and
sincerity to please Allah while performing good actions.
Reported in Bukhari that Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam had a
she camel that was called Al Adbaa. It was so fit that in a race, no other
could surpass it. But once, a Bedouin came on a young camel and he raced
and won the race while competing with the she camel of Rasouloullah
Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam. So the sahabahs r.a. disliked the fact that
the she camel of Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam lost the race.
So Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam noticed that in their faces
and hence Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam said: ‘’It is the
decree of Allah that He will push down whatever has risen up in this
So whatever has risen up will soon face the decree of down fall. Wherever
the zenith of the sun reached up in the sky, in no time the sun will start
its descent towards the sun set. So expect it. Be ready to descend the
ladder when you are up there.
Imaam Bukhari r.a. has classified this hadith also under the chapter of
Humility. That is it is humble for us to accept defeat and digest defeat.
Because only Allah Ta`ala will stay A`laa, the Most High. Everyone besides
Him will have to face death, downfall and expiry.
Nowadays, it has become common practice not to accept defeat. There is
always a quest for stubborn unconceded behaviours. Here Rasouloullah
Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam conceded as he did in Uhud, in front of the
unopened fortress of Ta-if and in front of the fact that cultivators knew
better the technique of cultivating. There is no shame in conceding.
Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam was revealed the knowledge that
no man ever had. He was the apogee of human kind. He had the perfect family
lineage, the perfect body silhouette and perfection in character. He
reached that level of proximity to Allah Ta`ala that no one has or will
achieve. And yet, He conceded in several junctions of his life!
My mentor, Hazrat Mufti Meerun r.a. used to say that he feels a happiness
and a kind of pride if he sees himself in the situation that he has to
change his fatwa due to new findings and proofs. This does not bother him
to change his stand publicly as this prove an improvement in his
professional finding of knowledge.
In the last Hajj of Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam, he admitted
that had he had known the benefits of Hajj Tamattu-that is to become halaal
after Umrah-, then he would NOT have done niyah of Qiraan-that is stay in
Ihraam from Umrah until Hajj finishes.(Bukhari)
Some conclusions could only be known after the events. So intelligent and
honesty requires that we admit and concede had we misjudged.
Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam said: ‘’I am the guarantor of a
palace in the outskirt of Jannah to the one who leave out discussions
although he is right. And I am the guarantor of a palace in the midst of
Jannah to the one who leave out lies even in his jokes. And I am a
guarantor of a palace in the Height of Jannah to the one who perfect his
character.’’(Abu Dawood)

*My teacher Hazrat Mufti Muhammad Ali Bhopali sahab damat barakatuhu used
to say that this promise of palace in Jannah is a guarantee-insha Allah-
that you will enter Jannah and not taste Hell. Because it cannot be that
you have a house up there and still suffering down there. So it is alike a
guarantee to enter Jannah without tasting Hell-insha Allah.*
*May Allah Ta`ala give us tawfeeq to adopt such norms in our lives that
elevate our ranks to the highest abode in Jannah.**Ameen. Duas.*
