*THE QABRASTAAN DOSE*

 *The greed of man pushes him to the limit of giving his whole life for this dunya.*

سورة العاديات (١٠٠): آية ٨]

وَإِنَّهُ لِحُبِّ الْخَيْرِ لَشَدِيدٌ

[100:8] 

*And he is very intense in his obsession for wealth.(100:8)*

*In his quest to compete for more dunya, he forgets completely on his final destination of aakhirah*

ألْهاكُمُ التَّكاثُرُ (١) حَتّى زُرْتُمُ المَقابِرَ (٢)

*_Indeed you are distracted by the competition between yourselves to amass more wealth…until you reach your graves._*(Surah 102)

*In fact, visiting qabrastaan and reminding ourselves of death is the brake to this madness of dunya pursuit.*

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «أَكْثِرُوا ذِكْرَ هَاذِمِ اللَّذَّاتِ» يَعْنِي الْمَوْتَ

سنن ترمزي

*Rasouloullah swalallahou alaihi wasallam said: “Talk a lot of the breaker of passions : Death.*

*Sunan Tirmizi*

عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ؛ قَالَ:

زَارَ النَّبِيُّ صلى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ قَبْرَ أُمِّهِ. فَبَكَى وَأَبْكَى مَنْ حَوْلَهُ. فَقَالَ: «اسْتَأْذَنْتُ رَبِّي فِي أَنْ أَسْتَغْفِرَ لَهَا فَلَمْ يُؤْذَنْ لِي. وَاسْتَأْذَنْتُهُ فِي أَنْ أَزُورَ قَبْرَهَا فَأُذِنَ لِي. فَزُورُوا الْقُبُورَ. فَإِنَّهَا تُذَكِّرُ الْمَوْتَ».

صحيح مسلم 

*Rasouloullah Swalallahou Alaihi Wasallam said: “..Visit graves, for it reminds of death.”*

Sahih Muslim 

*In this dosage of “brakes” to love of this world, Rasouloullah Swalallahou Alaihi Wasallam taught us to frequently visit graves.*

*The most cherished personality to Rasouloullah Swalallahou Alaihi Wasallam was Hazrat Aisha ra.*

*Reported in Muslim Shareef that Hazrat Aisha ra said that whenever her night turn used to come, Rasouloullah Swalallahou Alaihi Wasallam used to visit Qabrastaan (Graveyard) at the end of the night.*

عَنْ شَرِيكٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي نَمِرٍ ،  عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ،  عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ: «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ (كُلَّمَا كَانَ لَيْلَتُهَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ إِلَى الْبَقِيعِ

صحيح مسلم

*So when you just bought a car, a house, concur a great deal, dunya coming to you, etc, then schedule a visit to Qabrastaan/graveyard as a dosage to brake lust and greed for this world.*

*Sunnah to visit Qabrastaan ONLY FOR MEN every week, best on Friday after Fajr. Ulamas have prohibited women from graveyards due to intermingling.*

*But they may contemplate on death on their musallahs.*
