In Islam, a new day commences after maghrib. But why don’t we start fasting after maghrib? Why do we start it in the morning?

Ramadhan starts after maghrib. But the definition of fast according to the Qur’an is to stay away from eating, drinking and sexual relationship with the intention of sawaab as from sehri until maghrib. Thus, so as to get sawaab and to obey Allah, we should not be fasting at night.
