Bismihi Ta`ala
*PERMISSIBILITY OF SHARING QUR-AAN JUZS ON WHATSAPP GROUP-2019/1440.*
*First of all, we already wrote on the subject on permissibility of sharing Juzs in WhatsApp group on condition that there are no fitnas and is done only to please Allah Ta`ala. Please read on islam-qna.org.*
*Today I wish to share a few more proof to add on the subject. In the depth of the maslah is to share responsibility of finishing a religious task like finishing the Qur-aan. There is no general application except those approved by ulamas.*
*Finishing the Qur-aan is alike a daily effort of travelling towards a destination. The beloved prophet Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam described the journey to finish the Qur-aan as a traveller that restart his journey wherever he stopped. And when he reach his destination of fininshing the Qur-aan, then he restarts again(Tirmizi):*
عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَقَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ قَالَ الْحَالُّ الْمُرْتَحِلُ قَالَ وَمَا الْحَالُّ الْمُرْتَحِلُ قَالَ الَّذِي يَضْرِبُ مِنْ أَوَّلِ الْقُرْآنِ إِلَى آخِرِهِ كُلَّمَا حَلَّ ارْتَحَلَ ترمذي
*A hafiz will reach his abode of Jannah wherever he finishes the Qur-aan on the habitual speed he used to read on earth. The Qur-aan khatme defines his grade in Jannah(Nassai;Tirmizi):*
عن عبد الله بن عمرو قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقال لصاحب القرآن اقرأ وارق ورتل كما كنت ترتل في الدنيا فإن منزلتك عن آخر آية تقرؤهاترمذي
*Finishing the Qur-aan and then restarting it again is a daily and a lifelong activity. The moderate time lapse is to do it in one month.(Bukhari) But if preoccupied, then at least finish it at least twice a year.(Itqaan-Suyuti)* *You see the Qur-aan contain Hidayah(Guidance), Nur(a light), Shifa(A cure) and Furqaan(a differentiating proof) and many other living qualities. And we may benefit completely of all its qualities by reading it wholly. That is why du`as are accepted when finishing the Qur-aan. Hazrat Jibra-eel a.s. used to listen to one khatme from Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam once every Ramadhaan. But during the last Ramadhaan of Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam, he made Rasouloullah SAW read the whole Qur-aan twice.(Bukhari)*
*In fact our ulamas used to make lots of khatmes of Qur-aan for sawaab of the deceased and also for demised peak ulamas: Ibn Rajab report that during a fortnight, his students finished 221 khatmes of Qur-aan by the Qabr of Sheikh Abu Mansoor r.a.:*
وقال السلفي: ذكر لي المؤتمن في ثاني جمعة من وفاة الشيخ أبي منصور: أن اليوم ختموا على رأس قبره مائتي وإحدى وعشرين ختمة.ابن رجب
*Khatme means to finish the Qur-aan. Be it sharing the parts of Qur-aan by a sitting or in different sittings. Our ulamas stopped the bid`ah practice of adding food to the Khatme. It is should be objectively for the Qur-aan reading and duas and nothing more.*
*Finally I wish to share a hadith to you today about sharing a task to other brothers and sisters. That is we share juzs to make it easy to finish the Qur-aan. Because we are unable to finish it in near future ourselves. That is why we create WhatsApp group to finish the Qur-aan sawaab more quickly. Share to finish a task. And Insha Allah we would get the whole sawaab. Because each one indicating, participating and sharing a task will benefit from the whole accomplished task.*
*Khair let`s see the hadith:*
حدثنا سعيد بن عفير قال حدثني الليث قال حدثني عقيل عن ابن شهاب عن حمزة بن عبد الله بن عمر أن ابن عمر قالسمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال بينا أنا نائم أتيت بقدح لبن فشربت حتى إني لأرى الري يخرج في أظفاري ثم أعطيت فضلي عمر بن الخطاب قالوا فما أولته يا رسول الله قال العلمبخاري
*Reported in Bukhari that Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam was given a bowl of milk to drink in his dream. He drank until he could see the milk effect on his nails. He then gave hazrat Umar r.a. to finish the bowl of milk. Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alaihi Sallam described the bowl of milk as Islamic knowledge.(Bukhari)*
*So the beloved prophet Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam shared the task of establishing the ahkaam of deen with Hazrat Umar r.a. Today we take hold of ahkaam of Taraweeh, Talaaq, Spending during Iddah, etc from the initiative of Umar r.a. together with ijma` of Ulamas of Sahabahs during the era of Umar r.a.*
*So in a manner, the task of completion of masa-il was shared to Umar r.a. by Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam.*
*We derive from this that it is permissible to share the task of finishing the Qur-aan through WhatsApp groups or through any other means where there are no fitnas, no intermingling of sexes and no bid`ah or imposition attached.*
*Note: For other other task sharing, please ask your ulamas as this article only prove it for Qur-aan khatmes.*
