Bismihi Ta`ala
*MOSES V/S PHARAOH: A PASSIVE DA`WA STRATEGEM.*
*Reported in Bukhari that it was on 10th Muharram that Moossa a.s. achieved victory over Pharaoh. When Moossa a.s. came in Egypt as a prophet, he was not instructed to build fortresses, nor assemble and train an army, but rather to continuously invite people towards Islam and piety. He started with Pharaoh and his people. Then he consolidated the faith and way of life of Banu Israeel on Islam. When continuous da`wah was done towards everyone in that area, then Allah Ta`ala decided to separate between the Haq(Truth) over Baatil(Falsehood). The people of Haq was asked to migrate from that place and then Allah Ta`ala opened way through the sea for the muslims and then destroyed Pharaoh and his army by that same Sea.*
*Amongst the histories of prophets mentioned in Qur-aan, the history of prophet Moossa a.s. and his people Banu Isra-eel is mentioned more than anyone else. This is to instruct the Ummah of Muhammad SAW that in most condition of tyranny and government suppression, the best means to achieve victory is through passive Da`wa. No one denies the act of Self defence or territory extension as part of the agenda of Islamic empire, but know that war was never an objective act in Islam. Da`wa is objectively prescribed. In fact wajib to do da`wa before war.*
*As such, we muslims are in the same state of life as Banu Israeel. In some part of the globe, muslims are silently killed, other parts muslims are deprived of respect and self esteem. Pharaohs assembled to rip off the might and self respect of Muslims. In any condition, we should all conduct passive da`wa. Da`wa without brutality. A passive Da`wa. This is the prescription for one and all.*
*Yes, those head of muslim countries who has authority over military, international political access and economic power should use these to promote Islam and help muslims around the globe. But the general public should use the infallible means of stratagem of Moses towards the Pharaoh: Passive Da`wa. The beloved prophet SAW did say we will go through the trivial of Banu Isra-eel(Tirmizi):*
عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيَأْتِيَنَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي مَا أَتَى عَلَى بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ حَذْوَ النَّعْلِ بِالنَّعْلِ حَتَّى إِنْ كَانَ مِنْهُمْ مَنْ أَتَى أُمَّهُ عَلَانِيَةً لَكَانَ فِي أُمَّتِي مَنْ يَصْنَعُ ذَلِكَ وَإِنَّ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ تَفَرَّقَتْ عَلَى ثِنْتَيْنِ وَسَبْعِينَ مِلَّةً وَتَفْتَرِقُ أُمَّتِي عَلَى ثَلَاثٍ وَسَبْعِينَ مِلَّةً كُلُّهُمْ فِي النَّارِ إِلَّا مِلَّةً وَاحِدَةً قَالُوا وَمَنْ هِيَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ مَا أَنَا عَلَيْهِ وَأَصْحَابِي
ترمذي
*The way out of the trivial of Banu Israeel is the way of Moossa a.s.
Reported in Bukhari that during the trivial of Makkah dominance over muslims, some Sahabahs came to tell Rasouloullah SAW to make duas for their saviour. Rasouloullah SAW told them that you are wanting things too quick. People before used to make lots of sabr for the cause of Islam.*
عن خباب بن الأرت قال
شكونا إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وهو متوسد بردة له في ظل الكعبة قلنا له ألا تستنصر لنا ألا تدعو الله لنا قال كان الرجل فيمن قبلكم يحفر له في الأرض فيجعل فيه فيجاء بالمنشار فيوضع على رأسه فيشق باثنتين وما يصده ذلك عن دينه ويمشط بأمشاط الحديد ما دون لحمه من عظم أو عصب وما يصده ذلك عن دينه والله ليتمن هذا الأمر حتى يسير الراكب من صنعاء إلى حضرموت لا يخاف إلا الله أو الذئب على غنمه ولكنكم تستعجلون

So it is a mistake to curse non muslims if you have not yet cover the obligation of continuous da`wa and invitation for them to become muslims. After years of patient Da`wa, then came the years of victory in Madinah. So let us take the way of Tableegh on the stratagem of Moses and let`s spare some days every year for Da`wa and Tableegh.Note that Hazrat Nuh a.s. cursed his people only after 950 years of Da`wa. Rasouloullah SAW cursed a few Kafirs like Abu Jahl, Ummayah, etc only after years of effective Da`wa. Today, we tend to first curse than anything else. First let`s do the ground work of Da`wa, then only will our du`as and bad du`as be effective. For this we need more muslims to be aware of that fact. That is why tableegh is to revive the muslim responsibility first. The next step will be others.
