Bismihi Ta`ala

Allah Ta`ala said in the Noble Qur-aan :مَنْ جَاءَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُ عَشْرُ أَمْثَالِهَا [الأنعام : 160]‘’Whoever comes with a good deed will receive ten times as much.’’(6:160)In this ayah it is said ‘’Whoever comes with a good deed’’ and not ‘’whoever performed a good deed’’. This is because on the road to reckoning, many would have lost their good deeds in the way. So whoever fulfilled the good deed, provided done with good intention to please Allah Ta`ala and also done according to the sunnah of Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam, then has reached the peak of judgement on the day of Qiyaamah with these actions, then these will be multiplied by 10. If lost in the way, then beware, no reward here. And how can we lose our actions?

1. By offending others with verbal abuse, false accusing, physical abuse or stealing them their possessions

Reported in Muslim, Tirmizi and other kitaabs that Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam described a person rich with lots of actions that he took great pain to accumulate during his lifetime: salaah, fasts and Zakaah. But since he verbally abused some people, he falsely accused other people, he stole and consumed other people`s wealth, he killed people and he physically abused others, then the billionaire in terms of actions will be made bankrupt when all his actions will be used to pay off his injustice to these people. He is the most unfortunate bankrupt as he will come billionaire, made popper and thrown in the fire.  So after actions, take care of fulfilling other family member rights, neighbour rights, dealer rights, inheritance rights, etc.

2. Also beware that jealousy don`t burn away your actions.

Reported in Abu Dawood that Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam said: ‘’Stay away from jealousy. Because jealousy finish good actions just like fire consume wood.’’So being jealous of someone burns away the assets of good actions that you accumulated. Rather be happy of what Allah Ta`ala has bestowed upon you.If you find someone surpass you in actions, wealth or sacrifices for deen, then make du`as for their progress, give them their due respect and develop muhabbat and love for them. Insha Allah, you will reach their level of sawaab and reward by loving them:

Reported in Bukhari that Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam was asked about someone who love some people but cannot attain their level of good actions and sacrifice? Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alaihi Sallam answered: ‘’A person will be considered from amongst those whom he loved.’’So keeping good ties with ulamas, pious people, people connected to masjids and Darul uloom will have a lifting effect on the day of qiyamah, far up with them. But know that you need to do actions yourself. Because even khimat of Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam, his du`as need the person`s actions himself to be accepted:

Reported in Muslim Shareef that Rabi`ah ibn Ka`b r.a. was making the khidmat of Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam. So once Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam told him: ‘’Ask whatever you want’’ He answered: ‘’I want to be with you in Jannah!’’ So Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam told him: ‘’Anything besides this one?’’ He replied ‘’No. I only need this one.’’ So Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam told him: ‘’Help me in doing this to yourself by lots of sujoods/prosternations/salaahs.’’(Muslim) So even the du`as of the buz`rougs won`t benefit you if your actions are bad. You need to be good muslim first and then look for advancement by keeping good ties with those before you in that struggle.

Reported in Muslims shareef that someone`s noble lineage will not benefit that person if his actions have left him behind. You see Islam does not privilege leadership as a definite beneficial prospect in the weight of actions. Rather one is slaughtered without knife by proning oneself in enemity of others, in pronouncing decisions against others that may be debatable on the day of Qiyaamah in the court of justice. So it is rather a load. So Sahabahs avoided seats of leadership. But they were fierce competitors in good actions. Competition was not of wealth, name or post. But rather they will maximise good actions to attain higher jannah:

26] “It is in this quest(of this beautiful jannah) that the competitors should race with each other.’’(83:26)

Hazrat Abu Bakr r.a. raced in excellence of all good actions. But he never made du`a of becoming chief:السنن الكبرى – البيهقي – (8 / 152)عن سعد بن ابراهيم حدثنى ابراهيم بن عبد الرحمن بن عوف ان عبد الرحمن بن عوف كان مع عمر بن الخطاب رضى الله عنهما وان محمد بن مسلمة كسر سيف الزبير رضى الله عنهما ثم قام أبو بكر رضى الله عنه فخطب الناسواعتذر إليهم وقال والله ماكنت حريصا على الامارة يوما ولا ليلة قط ولا كنت فيها راغبا ولا سألتها الله في سر ولا علانية

So basing on the 10 times action package, after 30 fasts of Ramadhaan comes the optional 6 nafils of Shawaal and hence 360 days of fasting is a full year.(M Abdur Razaaq)

So after performing actions, keep them safe from being stolen or taken in currency of injustice. Remember Good actions sweep away the bad effects of past evil actions. And in case of lacking of good actions, then a few sicknesses, life bitterness and difficulties will boost his level to reach the quest of higher level in jannah(Musnad Abu Ya`laa).

Remember us and the whole ummah in the du`as after your actions. Because du`as are accepted after good actions.
