Bismihi Ta’ala
TUNING OF DUNYA/DEEN.
Know that we have been created in the servitude of Allah Ta’ala.
وما خَلَقْتُ الجِنَّ والإنْسَ إلا لِيَعْبُدُونِ “And I have not created the jinns and humanity but only for them to worship Me.”(51:56)
So our main objective in life is to obey Allah Ta’ala. It is the divine prescription that we pray 5 times a day, take out time for the deen of Allah Ta’ala, work a halaal livelihood, look after parents, spend time with the family and look after your physique. The models to follow are the sahabahs r.a. They had family, children, received foreigh guests in their house, taught them deen and gift them before they depart, went in the path of Allah, went for Hajj and Umrah and gave Zakaat, helped the poor and the community in general. Allah Ta’ala appreciated their way of life such that they took out time of their working time for salaah, they took out money out their wealth for Zakaat, they kept their tongues wet in Zikrullah and talking on the greatness of Allah Ta’ala, and after Maghrib had family time and after Esha wife time.
رِجالٌ لا تُلْهِيهِمْ تِجارَةٌ ولا بَيْعٌ عَنْ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ وإقامِ الصَّلاةِ وإيتاءِ الزَّكاةِ يَخافُونَ يَوْمًا تَتَقَلَّبُ فِيهِ القُلُوبُ والأبْصارُ
“These are noblemen that their business, their profession does not distract them from Zikrullah, establishing salaah and giving out Zakaat. They fear a day when hearts and eyes will be in dismay.”(24:37)So sahabahs had professions. But their professions did not prevent them from daily salaahs, going in the path of Allah when called and helping the needy. In fact, their ultimate ambition was akhirah as the ayah mentions. So dunya should not harm our aakhirah. Rasouloullah Swalallahou Alaihi Wasallam left Hazrat Abu Bakr ra, Umar ra and other sahabahs in their respective professions. So it is sunanul huda to work for halaal rozi to prevent oneself from begging. Also take out time to read a hizb/a part of Qurab daily. Do a few tasbeehs after Fajr and Assr.
حَدَّثَنا أبُو بَكْرٍ قالَ: حَدَّثَنا وكِيعٌ، قالَ: حَدَّثَنا سُفْيانُ، عَنْ حَجّاجِ بْنِ فُرافِصَةَ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ، عَنْ أبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قالَ: قالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «مَن طَلَبَ الدُّنْيا حَلالًا اسْتِعْفافًا عَنِ المَسْألَةِ، وسَعْيًا عَلى أهْلِهِ، وتَعَطُّفًا عَلى جارِهِ، لَقِيَ اللَّهَ ووَجْهُهُ كالقَمَرِ لَيْلَةَ البَدْرِ، ومَن طَلَبَ الدُّنْيا مُكاثِرًا بِها حَلالًا مُرائِيًا، لَقِيَ اللَّهَ وهُوَ عَلَيْهِ غَضْبانُ»مصنف ابن أبي شيبة
Reported in Musannaf ibn abi shaibah that one who earn a halaal living to prevent oneself from begging others, and to provide for his family and to spend on his neighbour, then he will meet Allah Ta’ala with a face shining like the full moon. But one who work to accumulate wealth and to show off , then he will meet Allah Ta’ala such that Allah Ta’ala will be angry with him.
FINE TUNING
حَدَّثَنا أبُو طالِبٍ الكاتِبُ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الجَهْمِ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ الطُّوسِيُّ، ح وحَدَّثَنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إسْحاقَ، ثنا أحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنصُورٍ الرَّمادِيُّ، ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ، نا أبُو العُمَيْسِ، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أبِي جُحَيْفَةَ، عَنْ أبِيهِ، أنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ آخى بَيْنَ سَلْمانَ وبَيْنَ أبِي الدَّرْداءِ، قالَ: فَجاءَ سَلْمانُ يَزُورُ أبا الدَّرْداءِ فَإذا أُمُّ الدَّرْداءِ مُتَبَذِّلَةً، قالَ: ما شَأْنُكِ؟، قالَتْ: إنَّ أخاكَ يَقُومُ اللَّيْلَ ويَصُومُ النَّهارَ ولَيْسَ لَهُ حاجَةٌ فِي نِساءِ الدُّنْيا، فَجاءَ أبُو الدَّرْداءِ فَرَحَّبَ بِهِ سَلْمانُ وقَرَّبَ إلَيْهِ طَعامًا، فَقالَ لَهُ سَلْمانُ: أطْعِمْ، فَقالَ: إنِّي صائِمٌ، فَقالَ: أقْسَمْتُ عَلَيْكَ لَتُفْطِرَنَّهُ، قالَ: ما أنا بِآكِلٍ حَتّى تَأْكُلَ فَأكَلَ مَعَهُ ثُمَّ باتَ عِنْدَهُ حَتّى إذا كانَ اللَّيْلُ أرادَ أبُو الدَّرْداءِ أنْ يَقُومَ فَمَنَعَهُ سَلْمانُ وقالَ لَهُ: إنَّ لِجَسَدِكَ عَلَيْكَ حَقًّا، ولِرَبِّكَ عَلَيْكَ حَقًّا، ولِأهْلِكَ عَلَيْكَ حَقًّا، صُمْ وأفْطِرْ، وصَلِّ ونَمْ، وائْتِ أهْلَكَ وأعْطِ كُلَّ ذِي حَقِّ حَقَّهُ، فَلَمّا كانَ فِي وجْهِ الصُّبْحِ، قالَ: قُمِ الآنَ إنْ شِئْتَ فَقاما فَتَوَضَّيا ثُمَّ رَكَعا ثُمَّ خَرَجا إلى الصَّلاةِ، فَدَنا أبُو الدَّرْداءِ لِيُخْبِرَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِالَّذِي أمَرَهُ سَلْمانُ، -[١٣٨]- فَقالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «يا أبا الدَّرْداءِ إنَّ لِجَسَدِكَ عَلَيْكَ حَقًّا» مِثْلَ ما قالَ سَلْمانُ. لَفْظُ أبِي طالِبٍسنن الدارقطني
Reported in Darul Qutni, Tabrani and others that Hazrat Salmaan ra corrected Hazrat Abu Darda ra on adjusting his time distribution. “Your body has a right over you, your Lord has a right over you, your wife has a right over you, so do fast and leave it also, pray at night also and find time to sleep, and intimate with your wife. So acquit yourself of all respective rights.” This fine tuning was approved by Rasouloullah Swalallahou Alaihi Wasallam. So fine tune your time distribution to look after your physique, your wife and children, your profession and also to make ibaadat of Allah Ta’ala, especially Tahajjud time. Allama Shami ra say that acquit yourselves of all rights objectively to be able to give time to the deen of Allah Ta’ala. In the end , all were fine tuned to please Allah Ta’ala on the sunnah of Rasouloullah Swalallahou Alaihi Wasallam.
