The sunnah of self-sufficiency.

Bismihi Ta`ala
*THE SUNNAH OF SELF-SUFFICIENCY.*
*The beloved prophet Muhammad Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam was a person that was a mercy for the universe. He showed the world the mercy way of ruling a country/empire, as the minister of Finance in Madinah, he showed the economists of the world the concept of a free market economy without abuse; he pioneered the modern medicine through muslims who followed him like Ibn Sina, etc; he established the social welfare concept of taking from the rich to give to the poor, which was against the medieval royal monarchy of taxing the poor to enrich the royals; he was so a mercy that when he place his hand in water, then this became a cure for the sick; he was a ruler over a country and yet he was surrounded by his family and his children and grand children playing around him. Allah Ta`ala complimented him: ‘’And you are surely on an excellent standard of character.’’(68:4) Whomsoever followed him will develop such allegiance that they were ready to sacrifice their wealth and life instantly on his say. A character that attracted humans from far, as if he was a bee hive to hundreds of arabs and non arabs. He is my prophet Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam. If we during the distance of 14 centuries pains us that this Ramadhaan we will not be able to visit him in Madinah, then imagine what pain that sahabahs would have felt when the thought of leaving him had stroke them. Please, send lots of durood tonight and tomorrow Friday as your douroud will be presented with a ‘’mention’’ in front of him. By the way, there will be almost no one in front of his roza tonight as the health curfew continues.**Today I will Insha Allah talk of self sufficiency that Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam taught the muslims and showed the way of mercy to the world. Because the Islamic empire had an international mirror over the world, the rest of the world adopted many of the mercy that the prophet brought.**First of all, the prophet Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam taught us to do our task ourselves. When something would fall from a sahabah horseman, although there was people walking around him, he would not ask for anyone`s help and he would come down and pick it up himself-Sahih Muslim.*صحيح مسلم – (5 / 251)أَخْبَرَنَا مَرْوَانُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ الْخَوْلَانِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي مُسْلِمٍ الْخَوْلَانِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي الْحَبِيبُ الْأَمِينُ أَمَّا هُوَ فَحَبِيبٌ إِلَيَّ وَأَمَّا هُوَ عِنْدِي فَأَمِينٌ عَوْفُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيُّ قَالَكُنَّا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تِسْعَةً أَوْ ثَمَانِيَةً أَوْ سَبْعَةً فَقَالَ أَلَا تُبَايِعُونَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَكُنَّا حَدِيثَ عَهْدٍ بِبَيْعَةٍ فَقُلْنَا قَدْ بَايَعْنَاكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَلَا تُبَايِعُونَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقُلْنَا قَدْ بَايَعْنَاكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَلَا تُبَايِعُونَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ فَبَسَطْنَا أَيْدِيَنَا وَقُلْنَا قَدْ بَايَعْنَاكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَعَلَامَ نُبَايِعُكَ قَالَ عَلَى أَنْ تَعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَلَا تُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا وَالصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسِ وَتُطِيعُوا وَأَسَرَّ كَلِمَةً خَفِيَّةً وَلَا تَسْأَلُوا النَّاسَ شَيْئًا فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ بَعْضَ أُولَئِكَ النَّفَرِ يَسْقُطُ سَوْطُ أَحَدِهِمْ فَمَا يَسْأَلُ أَحَدًا يُنَاوِلُهُ إِيَّاهُ *The shariah encourage the provision for a budget. Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam allowed the permissibility of taking debts if it is secured by wealth to be able to repay in the case of sudden death. The beloved prophet Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam bought a ration of food for his wives and made provision for his family. Hazrat Abu Bakr siddiq r.a. took out a large sum as gift to give hazrat Aisha r.a. because she was a young widow that will spend her life for educating freely the ummah. This is the proof that a living parent may favour gifting one alim/a child to facilitate his task deeni khidmat. Else, if parent decide to gift their child during lifetime, then it is incumbent upon them to give sons and daughters at par-equally.**The beloved prophet Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam encouraged a rural lifestyle near cities. Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alihi Wasallam explicitly discouraged those who wanted to leave the edge of Madinah to settle in the city centre. He himself would go to the rural area after Jum`ahs to have lunch there by an old lady. This was to encourage local productions. During this pandemic, we have seen super powers begging developing world for supplies of medicines or other necessities.**We should also keep a place in our backyard to grow vegetables so that we may be self sufficient for our family in difficult times. We have seen that with paper money, you could not get food or vegetables. Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam used to say that one day, the ideal life to practice religion will be a shepherd life on top of mountains.**No surprise that the last muslims on the surface of the earth before the blow of the Trumpet will be Qureish arabs who abandoned electricity comfort and city life. They would be probably not depending upon technology and modern world such that they could preserve the deen Islam and carry the Mubarak name of ‘’Allah, Allah’’ until the end of our time*.صحيح البخاري – ()قال سمعت أبي عن ابن عمر رضي الله عنهما عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال لا يزال هذا الأمر في قريش ما بقي منهم اثنان

*We should be more self sufficient. Country wise, city wise and on a personal level also. Each country should be more prepared with stocks of food and its own production units for necessities like health care and daily necessities. Imports should be discouraged.**The sunnah of Allah does not change. After the pandemic of 1918, there were wars. I fear more wars after this pandemic. Wallahou A`lam. Take your precautions. Step back to the rural places. Take your security measures. Be ready for anything.*
