Bismihi Ta`ala

*THE MODERATE UMMAH-Part 5.*

*The perfection of religious apogee is to have close connection to The Creator-Allah Ta`ala- and also having a saint plausible relationship with humans and the creations. This is the perfect moderate dose for the Moderate Ummah. Without this, we cannot attain salvation.*

*The most perfect men on earth were prophets. And all prophets had not only dedicated to attain the cleanliness of piety but also connect to people to benefit them by preaching. Hazrat Nuh a.s. invited his people night and day for 950 years(Surah Nuh verse 5 and 29:14):*

*And a prophet is called to connect to Allah Ta`ala especially at night. The Tahajjud prayer brings closeness to Allah Ta`ala like no other nafil salaahs.*  يَا أَيُّهَا الْمُزَّمِّلُ  قُمِ اللَّيْلَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا

*O you wrapped in clothes. Stand up whole night(in prayers) except a little.(Surah Muzammil)*

*The beloved prophet Swalallahou `Alaihi Sallam used to stand in Tahajjud so long that his feet used to get swollen.(Bukhari) And yet during the day, he would sit with his companions teaching them, correcting them and preaching them. The free time before Fajr, sometime during the day, sometime after Assr, and after Esha, he would spend with his wife. Sometime after Maghrib, he would spend with the family of his wife.*    *Allah Ta`ala described Rasouloullah SAW with qualities of compassion for muslims and always wishing good and spiritual progress for them(9:128):*

This is the human co-relation. And as for divine connection, he attained peak that no one reached in Mi`raj. He reached the highest abode in Jannah and became the best amongst humans.*

*With great ibaadahs and personnal good actions accompanied with the voluntariat to benefitting others with Islamic teachings and improvement is the objective of Islam. To observe this, the beloved prophet SAW used to inspect his sahabahs on the aspect of Tahajjud, presence in salaah and also used to send new muslims to their home to educate them with Imaan and the laws of deen. And times to times they were tashkeel to go in the path of Allah. This is the moderation settings of the sunnah.*

*Once there was an Ijtima in a place. There was a so-called great alim in that area that I make an obligation to visit. But that so called great alim did not bother visit the Ijtima`. But paradoxically he sent his books in great quatity of boxes. If you sit in your home town and doing only writings and never concerned to visit the muslims gatherings in your area, then you are not on the equilibrium state of sunnah. You may spit ugly words against others but you could not make your one child also follow your footsteps. And know it is only on the day of Qiyamah that we will know where you stand and where these brothers stand. Don`t yell like a wild horse because know that M Thanwi used to say that it is only in Qabr that the veil of titles will cast open our realities in front of Allah Ta`ala. Besides a alim who derived the correct understanding of a masla will have 2 rewards while the one who erred will 1 reward. No azaab expected for him. So it is Haraam to swear at an alim even if he hold a different view from you. You should have learned respect from your parents, you who declare yourself as the whip of the Ummah.*

*Nonetheless, let`s come on our subject of moderation. Note that nafil salaah are read quietly during the day. But the tahajjud salaah requires the moderation of being audible. That is read Qur-aan during Tahajjud night salaah at such a pitch of your voice that one may hear you nearby. But not so loud that you disturb those sleeping. A soothing voice.*

*I wish to bring a great extrapolation that my beloved ustaad Mufti Radha ul Haq d.b. told us in Dars of Bukhari.*

*You see the following hadith report that the beloved prophet SAW used to visit the men sahabahs during early morning to enquire about Tahajjud salaahs and their way of reading. He heard Abu Bakr r.a. reading quietly whereas Umar r.a. was reading loudly. Rasouloullah SAW afterward asked them the why of the way of their reading. Abu Bakr r.a. replied that he reads quietly because Allah Ta`ala can hear him reading. Umar r.a. replied that he reads loudly to push shaitaan and also to wake those sleeping. So the beloved prophet SAW told Abu Bakr r.a. to raise his voice a little more and told Umar to read more softly.(Ibn Khuzeimah; Ibn Abi Shaibah; Qurtubi; Tabari)*

Sahih Ibn Khuzeimah
 Abi Shaibah

*On one hand hazrat Abu bakr r.a. was completely absorbed introvertedly connected to his Creator. On the other hand, hazrat Umar r.a. was concerned extrovertedly to the creation. So the moderation is to connect to creator with a concern of the creation. Rasouloullah SAW told Abu Bakr: ‘Raise your voice a bit’ and have a concern for your surroundings. And Umar r.a. that he should lower his voice a bit so that he be absorbed also in the presence of His Lord.*

*This is the moderation of the Ummah! Be pious, religiously concerned and also have a concern for the ones sleeping around you to wake them up for their imaan and salaah!*
