*THE MODERATE UMMAH-Part 1.*

*Allah Ta’ala said:* كَذَلِكَ جَعَلْنَاكُمْ أُمَّةً وَسَطًا لِتَكُونُوا شُهَدَاءَ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَيَكُونَ الرَّسُولُ عَلَيْكُمْ شَهِيدًا  *‘’And like this, We have made you a moderate Ummah, so that you be witnesses for the people, and the prophet Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam be witness over you.’’(2:143)*

*To become a leader, a model and the best, one need to be moderate. The beloved prophet Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam has set the most moderate path in the history of man.*

*Reported in Bukhari that in the absence of the prophet SAW, 3 persons came to the house Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam to enquire about His ibaadahs. When they were informed about their query, as if they found it very little. Then they vowed between themselves: One would spend all nights of his life in salaah, the other would fast the rest of his life and the third would live a life of celibacy so that he may give his life for deen. Afterwards Rasouloullah Swalallahou Alaihi Wasallam called them and told them that He is the most muttaqi and God fearing than anyone and yet he would fast nafils and then leave nafil  fasts. He would pray at night and also sleep and he marry women. Then the beloved prophet Swalallahou `Alaihi Sallam setting the highest standard of moderation said: ‘The one who turn away from my set path, then  he is not from me.’*

*To be best ummah, one need to follow the beloved prophet Swalallahou Alaihi Wasallam. To be the best person one need to be on the set path of the sunnah.*

*The beloved prophet Swalallahou Alaihi Wasallam described our life as a travel journey. He advised us that be close with one another, to correct each other, to make a morning effort(then rest), make an afternoon effort(then rest) and then something little at tahajjud time. Then he said: ‘Take the moderation mode! Be moderate! You would reach your destination.’(Bukhari)*
*From the above hadith we learn moderation of our life and also how to drive with a moderate speed. Speeding is against the normal trend of sunnah. Allah ta`ala like everything done neatly and with fineness.(Muslim) It is said that speeding is from Shaitaan. The beloved prophet Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam advised us to leave early for our travelling. So leave home early, drive with moderate speed, respect the road signs and reach your destination safely. Alhamdulillah. All thanks to Allah who has given us such guidance of sunnah!  *

*Also know that in our ibaadah life also, be regular with 5 salaahs, with tahajjud, tilaawah of Qur-aan, da`waa effort and tasbihaat.*

*Know that when our mothers hazrat Aisha r.a. and hazrat Ummu Salmah were asked about which actions was preferred to the prophet Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam? They answered: ‘An action done regularly, even if the action is little.’(Ahmad; Tirmizi)*
