Are platine and l’or blanc the same thing? Is zakat wajib on them?

No, not the same thing. Platine is more expensive and remain white shiny colour. L`or blanc is less expensive compared to platine and loses its shiny characteristic with time. Yes Zakaat is wajib on both of them.
