Bismihi Ta`ala
*FASTING AND IFTAAR**After Iftaar, there is a masnoon du`as that Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam used to read:* ذَهَبَ الظَّمَأُ وَ ابْتَلَّتِ الْعُرُوْقُ وَ ثَبَتَ الاَجْرُ اِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ تَعَالىٰ
*Zahabazamaou, wabtalla til `urooqou wa thabatal ajrou insha Allah Ta’ala. (Abu Dawood)**The thirst is quenched, the veins have been filled but (most important is that) the reward will stay insha Allah Ta`ala.(Abu Dawood)* *In fact, pondering on the meaning of this du`as, there is a lifelong reflection in it. Do actions, suffer for Allah Ta`ala`s deen, keep fast against lusts and greed and then finally reap the crop of your rewards in the Aakhirah.* *When Hazrat Umar r.a. became khalifah, he called for some sahabahs to advise him of how to proceed for that responsibility. One of them advised him: ‘’Fast in this dunya and break your fast in the aakhirah’’.* *So practically, we should maximise good actions during this life and then reap the fruits in the aakirah. And after death, all the fatigues, the pain, the suffering and the regrets will be transformed into rest, rewards, comfort and eternal happiness. Soon the page of our life and our identity will turn. Hundred years upfront, no one will recall us. So before the page turn, make a must of filling it with good actions. Because, you will earn whatever you sowed in this world*.*The Qur-aan says that past people that existed have now reached the destination of whatever their actions drove them to:*
‘’*Those are a people who have passed away. For them, is what they worked for. And as for you, you will get what you have worked for.’’(Baqarah:134)**So before your page turn, turn the course of your daily trend and increase the dose of aakhirah earnings during your day hours and night hours.**And when you open your eyes in the qabr, then amuse yourself because the iftaar will have no end there. But if you make the mistake to follow your desires here, then know that the Qur-aan warned that you will reap hell fire there. Reported in Tirmizi that those who sowed good actions will be told in the grave: ‘’Sleep! Sleep like the sleep of the newly wedded bride. No one will dare wake you up, but with great love and care.’’*سنن الترمذي – )سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا قُبِرَ الْمَيِّتُ أَوْ قَالَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَتَاهُ مَلَكَانِ أَسْوَدَانِ أَزْرَقَانِ يُقَالُ لِأَحَدِهِمَا الْمُنْكَرُ وَالْآخَرُ النَّكِيرُ فَيَقُولَانِ مَا كُنْتَ تَقُولُ فِي هَذَا الرَّجُلِ فَيَقُولُ مَا كَانَ يَقُولُ هُوَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولُهُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ فَيَقُولَانِ قَدْ كُنَّا نَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَقُولُ هَذَا ثُمَّ يُفْسَحُ لَهُ فِي قَبْرِهِ سَبْعُونَ ذِرَاعًا فِي سَبْعِينَ ثُمَّ يُنَوَّرُ لَهُ فِيهِ ثُمَّ يُقَالُ لَهُ نَمْ فَيَقُولُ أَرْجِعُ إِلَى أَهْلِي فَأُخْبِرُهُمْ فَيَقُولَانِ نَمْ كَنَوْمَةِ الْعَرُوسِ الَّذِي لَا يُوقِظُهُ إِلَّا أَحَبُّ أَهْلِهِ إِلَيْهِ حَتَّى يَبْعَثَهُ اللَّهُ مِنْ مَضْجَعِهِ ذَلِكَ وَإِنْ كَانَ مُنَافِقًا قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّاسَ يَقُولُونَ فَقُلْتُ مِثْلَهُ لَا أَدْرِي فَيَقُولَانِ قَدْ كُنَّا نَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَقُولُ ذَلِكَ فَيُقَالُ لِلْأَرْضِ الْتَئِمِي عَلَيْهِ فَتَلْتَئِمُ عَلَيْهِ فَتَخْتَلِفُ فِيهَا أَضْلَاعُهُ فَلَا يَزَالُ فِيهَا مُعَذَّبًا حَتَّى يَبْعَثَهُ اللَّهُ مِنْ مَضْجَعِهِ ذَلِكَ
*Soon the difficulties of this world will end. So take the courage to stand in salaah and acquit the rights of yourself, your family and your surroundings. So no need to hasten death by suicide or duas. Because we need more days of good actions to outweigh our bad action days. Soon the page will turn. So trace the path of your life beautifully adorned with sunnah of Rasouloullah Swalallahou `Alaihi Wasallam. And be admired by your caring and beloving Creator.*
