| One of the major concern of our era is the severe closing up of each country`s shores and frontier demarcation. Although plenty of space available, strict visas are required for entry and there exist no place on earth called ‘’no man`s land’’ as such. This strict miserly conduct is driving the world to indebtedness and poverty. And yet, our muslim countries have not yet understood the real issue! Allah Ta`ala, our Creator has set a law and has vowed to enhance this law until closeness to the day of qiyamah. His law is the Qur-aan and the sunnah of the beloved prophet SAW. No one can escape the enhancement of this law, even the meanest insect living in the forests. Every verse of His Qur-aan is a clause of His legal framework. And the words of the beloved prophet SAW are the definition of the road leading to Jannah(Paradise). The fuqahas dressed up a mode of life called Shari`ah, basing on each verse of the Qur-aan and overall sunnah of Nani SAW. When there are questions on the situation of the ummah, one should look for the causes mentioned and also the solutions that date 14 centuries ago. Today, we witness that the muslim ummah is suffocating, is suffering. As if the earth is closed up upon us. No way to go. Bound on ourselves and muslim states does not react to these situations. The main causes to this degeneration of the ummah are: 1. Stagnancy. 2. Our attention is on worldly means and not on Allah`s help. 3. Stinginess (avare). 4. No concern for life after death and no preparation for akhirah. 5. Lust for worldly processions. Stagnancy or not going in the path of Allah is such a sin that cause the earth to squeeze although the earth crust may be large and broad! Allah Ta`ala refers to the three sahabas who did not go in the path of Allah- Ka`b bin Malik, Murara bin Rabi` and Hilaal bin Umayyah r.a. Allah Ta`ala considered their stagnancy as a great sin and their sins caused the earth became squeezed and confined on them although the vastness of the earth: ‘’And [He also forgave] the three who were left behind [and regretted their error] to the point that the earth closed in on them in spite of its vastness and their souls confined them and they were certain that there is no refuge from Allah except in Him.’’(9:118) Going in the path of Allah opens up the benefit of wealth and well being. Ulamas should quote more the following ayah and include ‘’movement in the path of Allah’’ as a means of becoming rich: ‘’And whoever emigrates for the cause of Allah will find on the earth many [alternative] locations and abundance. And whoever leaves his home as an emigrant to Allah and His Messenger and then death overtakes him – his reward has already become incumbent upon Allah . And Allah is ever Forgiving and Merciful.’’(4:100) Stinginess brings more squeezes to life of muslims. According to the following hadith of Bukhari, then one who do not spend on poor, his life becomes miserable and become freeze from good actions. عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَثَلُ الْبَخِيلِ وَالْمُتَصَدِّقِ مَثَلُ رَجُلَيْنِ عَلَيْهِمَا جُبَّتَانِ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ قَدْ اضْطَرَّتْ أَيْدِيَهُمَا إِلَى تَرَاقِيهِمَا فَكُلَّمَا هَمَّ الْمُتَصَدِّقُ بِصَدَقَتِهِ اتَّسَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّى تُعَفِّيَ أَثَرَهُ وَكُلَّمَا هَمَّ الْبَخِيلُ بِالصَّدَقَةِ انْقَبَضَتْ كُلُّ حَلْقَةٍ إِلَى صَاحِبَتِهَا وَتَقَلَّصَتْ عَلَيْهِ وَانْضَمَّتْ يَدَاهُ إِلَى تَرَاقِيهِ فَسَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ فَيَجْتَهِدُ أَنْ يُوَسِّعَهَا فَلَا تَتَّسِعُ Thus muslims should spend on each other to enable well being between them. Also in Hunayn, Allah Ta`ala closed up the earth because attention was on means and not on the help of Allah: ‘’ Allah has already given you victory in many regions and [even] on the day of Hunayn, when your great number pleased you, but it did not avail you at all, and the earth was confining for you with its vastness; then you turned back, fleeing.’’(9:118) And also we need to turn our attention to Allah: ‘’ And whoever turns away from My remembrance – indeed, he will have a miserable life.’’(20:124) Indeed, we should be more concerned of the imaan of the muslims who emigrated to Non muslim countries. Because there are missionaries there that are working to steal the treasure of their imaan. So we need to be there. Travel in the path of Allah to reach these places. Know that the muslims living in those countries that welcomed these muslims are more responsible. Then the neighbouring countries. Then the whole ummah. By leaving your home to go there, you would be diminishing your lust for comforts and worldly possessions. And together with it, you will be preparing for Akhirah and more concerned for actions that would contribute your well being after death. Know that it is a responsibility and not a voluntary act. So leave stagnancy life and let`s be in movement in the path of Allah. Lest we do this, the ummah may get more squeezed. Allahoummah Fazna. |
